Our contracts are legally binding documents, so please make it a point to review the terms and conditions before completing a contract to live on campus so you can fully understand your rights and responsibilities. We’ve also included a link to the u-bill schedule for reference.

I. Terms of Agreement

This contract is held between you, the individual (referred to as “contract holder”, “student, “resident”) and University Housing & Dining (referred to as “Housing & Dining” or “UHD”). If the individual is a minor, this is an agreement between the individual, their legal guardian, and University Housing & Dining. No verbal statement by any party is considered an agreement or waiver of any term or condition, whether expressed or implied. This document constitutes the entire agreement between all the parties.

A.   The Housing & Dining Contract is effective and binding the date the Housing & Dining application is signed. 
B.   Your electronic signature (CatID and DOB) and selection of the “Agree to Terms & Conditions” box in the housing contract portal indicate your acceptance to the terms and conditions of the contract. 
C.   UNI faculty/staff are subject to abide by UNI policy 4.09 Faculty/Staff Use of University Housing
D.   No portion or benefit of this contract can be transferred, sublet, sold, or assigned to another person. The contract is with the named party only. 
E.   Space is reserved when both the signed application and applicable fees are received from the applicant. Rooms will not be held past the fifth (5th) day of fall or spring classes unless notification of late arrival is received in writing from the contract holder. 
F.   The contract includes housing and dining service, if applicable, for the entire contract period.
      i.    The academic year includes fall semester and spring semester. 
     ii.    Contracts that begin the spring semester include only the spring semester. 
     iii.   There is not a fall semester only contract option. 
     iv.   Summer term contracts are for housing only, and do not include dining. 
G.   Live 2 Succeed
     i.     New UNI freshmen, new UNI transfer students, and new Patrons who elect Live 2 Succeed in their first semester of living on campus, agree to a consecutive two-year (academic) contract along with all benefits and obligations noted herein. 
     ii.     Residents who are new to UNI and living on campus in the spring semester and elect Live 2 Succeed in their first semester of living on campus agree to a spring semester and consecutive academic year contract, along with all the benefits and obligations noted herein.   
    iii.     The contract period begins the first semester of living on campus.
    iv.     Residents can add or remove the Live 2 Succeed option prior to the end of the business day no later than the 10th day of classes in their first semester of living on campus. This must be done in writing.

II. Eligibility

A.   Housing and dining is available to admitted UNI students and Patrons of UHD who are at least 16 years of age by August 1 or January 1 (spring only) of the applicable contract year and who are in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing with the university. 
B.   Students must be enrolled for at least one credit hour at the University of Northern Iowa during their contract term or otherwise determined eligible by the Executive Director of Housing & Dining. 
C.   Patrons of UHD are defined as non-UNI students, faculty, or staff. Patrons are subject to Section VIII.B.i for enrollment criteria. 
D.   In accordance with UNI Policy 4.09, housing is available to faculty and staff members and visiting scholars/researchers working at the university and for no more than one calendar year from the date of occupancy. 
E.   Any individual changing their status during the term of this contract, e.g., changing from a student to a university employee, must provide written notice of the change in status to UHD within 10 business days. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the contract and additional charges.
F.   Residents are responsible for their own self-care including personal hygiene, mental health, management of medical conditions/illnesses, and/or personal needs, with or without reasonable accommodations. They are expected to utilize the various resources available to provide care for themselves. 
G.   Individuals who pose a danger to themselves and/or other residents may be subject to contract termination
by the university and a contract buyout fee being assessed. Refer to Section III.E for details. 
H.   Housing and dining may be refused to any individual based on their current or past conduct, or if the individual poses a safety or security risk to person or property. Registered sex offenders are not eligible to reside in university housing. Final decisions regarding eligibility lie with UHD. 
I.   UHD reserves the right to refuse to assign housing to an applicant, refund any prepayment, and make any final decision on assignments for room and meal plans. Final decisions regarding eligibility lie with UHD.
J.   Family Members of Eligible Contract Holders 
     i.     Contract holders must provide UHD with a list of all family members (noted in Sections II.J.ii directly below) who may reside with the contract holder for the duration of their occupancy or any part thereof; contract holders must provide documentation of relationship to family member(s).
     ii.     Contract holders with minor child(ren) must provide UHD a valid copy of a birth certificate, proof of adoption, certification of guardianship or custody agreement establishing parentage, guardianship or custody for minor child(ren) residing in university housing with the eligible contract holder no later than check-in (failure to do so will result in inability to check-in). 

K.   Each resident agrees to abide by all current policies which have been established by University of Northern Iowa and UHD. Copies of all said policies are available on the UNI website or upon request. Changes in policies occurring during the academic year will be made known via university email. Violation of any of the policies referenced herein, or any other conduct requiring removal of a student from a campus residence, shall be grounds for termination of the contract by the university and the contract buyout fee will be assessed. Refer to Section III.E for details.
L.   Loss of Eligibility
    i.       If registration as a student is canceled or otherwise terminated, employment with the University of Northern Iowa is terminated or ended, or if participation in the Optional or Curricular Practical Training program is canceled or terminated, there is a loss of eligibility, and the contract will be terminated. 
    ii.      If a student fails to enroll in classes, there is a loss of eligibility, and the contract will be terminated. 
    iii.     Loss of eligibility due to circumstances within a contract holder’s control including but not limited to: failure to attend classes resulting in administrative withdrawal or conduct violations will result in a contract buyout fee. Refer to Section III.E for details. 
    iv.     The contract holder agrees to vacate within ten (10) calendar days of the loss of eligibility regardless of circumstances. Failure to vacate may result in additional charges, in addition to the contract buyout fee.

III. Payment & Costs

A.   Fees
    i.     All new contract holders must pay a $50 non-refundable housing application fee 
               1.     New incoming student applicants must pay the university admissions acceptance fee for the specific term for which they are accepted. A portion of the acceptance fee ($50 housing application fee and $20 housing prepayment) is applied to the Housing & Dining contract when housing is elected.
               2.     Returning students and Patrons of UHD not currently living in campus housing who wish to live on campus must complete an application and are subject to the $50 non-refundable housing application fee. 
    ii.     The housing application fee is not required from returning students or Patrons living in campus housing when completing a contract for the subsequent year. 
    iii.     Residents obtaining approval and arriving prior to the start date of the contract will pay a daily early arrival fee. 
B.   Rates
    i.       Rates for housing and dining for the specified term are posted on the Housing & Dining website.  
    ii.      UNI Faculty and Staff pay a higher rate than students (per Policy 4.09). 
    iii.     Summer housing rates are calculated on a weekly basis with the full charge being posted at the beginning of occupancy. 
    iv.     The Iowa Board of Regents determines the rate for housing and meal plans and reserves the right to change rates upon giving 30-day notice. If the rates are increased during the term of the contract, the contract holder has the option of accepting the new rates or terminating the contract with no buyout when the new rates become effective. 
    v.      Room and meal plan charges will be adjusted on a prorated basis when a contract holder completes their contract later than the 10th day of classes for a contract that begins in that same semester (fall and spring only).
C.   Billing
    i.       Billing is based upon the term rate for the type of housing and dining option(s) selected by the contract holder and billed as such at the beginning of each term. 
    ii.      Room and meal plan charges are billed by term through the university billing system.
               1.   Fall term August 1
               2.   Spring term January 1
               3.   Summer term May 1 
               4.   Contracts completed after the dates posted above will be processed in the next week.   
    iii.     For billing purposes, weeks begin on Saturdays and end on Fridays. Occupants must be moved out by 4:30 p.m. on Friday to avoid being billed for the following week. 
    iv.     Section III.E details contract buyout charges, refunds and credits associated with the contract. All charges, refunds, and credits are applied to the student’s U-Bill.
D.   Financial Responsibility
    i.     Full payment of housing and meal plan charges are required per the university U-Bill Terms & Conditions. Failure to pay all charges by the due date may result in the inability to charge to a university account or contract to live on campus. 
    ii.     The contract holder agrees that if the university uses legal counsel, a collection agent or other person to enforce this agreement, the contract holder will pay the collection costs, attorney’s fees, court costs, and other expenses incurred by the university in obtaining payment amounts due under this agreement and/or enforcing this agreement, plus interest at the highest rate allowed by law on any unpaid balances. 
E.   Contract Buy Out
    i.     A resident may request a buyout of their UHD contract for the non-negotiable amount of $5,000 for each year of the contract. Live 2 Succeed contracts are for two years. This buyout is applied in its entirety at the time of cancellation in addition to any usage charges already incurred for housing and dining.
    ii.    When a resident’s housing contract is involuntarily terminated as a result of university action, the resident will be billed a contract buyout fee. 
                1.   If termination occurs after the term has begun, the bill will be prorated to charge for weekly room and meal plan charges until the move-out is complete. 
    iii.     A contract buyout fee is applied to the U-Bill for students who remain enrolled in classes and cancel the contract at any time during the duration of the contract. 
               1.   This applies to both year one and year two if the Live 2 Succeed contract option is selected.
                         a.   Residents can add or remove the Live 2 Succeed option prior to the end of the business day, no later than the 10th day of classes in their first semester of the contract start date. 
               2.   Contract buyout fees are applied to the entirety of the contract per year. 
    iv.     The amount will be adjusted based on the date the buyout is effective and will be applied at one time. 
               1.   Academic Year Contract
                         a.   May 1 to October 15, 2027: $5,000
                         b.   October 16, 2026 to January 6, 2027: $3,750
                         c.   January 7 to March 3, 2027: $2,500
                         d.   March 4 to May 6, 2027: $1,250 
               2.   Spring Only Contract
                         a.   November 1 to March 3, 2027: $2,500
                         b.   March 4 to May 6, 2027: $1,250 
               3.   Live 2 Succeed Academic Year Contract
                         a.   May 1 to October 15, 2026: $10,000
                                   i.     Residents may remove the Live 2 Succeed option until the end of the business day on the 10th day of classes in their first semester, changing their contract to an Academic Year Contract. 
                         b.   October 16, 2026 to January 6, 2027: $8,750
                         c.   January 7 to March 3, 2027: $7,500
                         d.   March 4 to May 6, 2027: $6,250 
                         e.   May 7 to October 15, 2027: $5,000
                         f.    October 16, 2027 to January 6, 2028: $3,750
                         g.   January 7 to March 3, 2028: $2,500
                         h.   March 4 to May 6, 2028: $1,250
               4.   Live 2 Succeed Spring Transfer 
                         a.   November 1, 2026 to March 3, 2027: $7,500
                                   i.     Residents may remove the Live 2 Succeed option until the end of the business day on the 10th day of classes in their first semester, changing their contract to a Spring Only Contract. 
                         b.   March 4 to May 6, 2027: $6,250 
                         c.   May 7 to October 15, 2028: $5,000
                         d.   October 16, 2026 to January 6, 2028: $3,750
                         e.   January 7 to March 3, 2028: $2,500
                         f.    March 4 to May 6, 2028: $1,250
    v.     The effective date of the buyout is determined based upon the official move out date from the dorms. Official move out date is based on the date keys have been returned and the student checked out of their assigned space. 
    vi.     A requested contract buyout prior to the start of the contract as defined in Section III.E.i above, will have August 24, 2026 as the effective date.
    vii.    Residents requesting release from their contract, who do not meet the criteria stated in Section VII.C for a release without buyout, will only be considered for release by completing and submitting a Contract Release Application. The Contract Release Committee will review the application and make a decision, and the resident will be provided the decision via email. See Section VII.D. If termination occurs after the term has begun, the bill will be prorated to charge for weekly room and meal plan charges until the move-out is complete. All Contract Release Applications for the respective contract year must be received prior to the last day of the contract term.

IV. Housing

A.   Assignments 
    i.       UHD reserves the right to reassign rooms for contract holders who are without roommates. In all cases, final determination of room assignments rests with UHD. No guarantees of roommate or space will be made. 
    ii.      Spring only contracts begin on the Friday prior to the first day of spring classes for newly admitted UNI students and Patrons.
    iii.     Residents who are not registered for the next semester (fall and/or spring), or are otherwise not eligible to continue residency, must vacate their rooms by 7:00 p.m. on the Saturday following the last day of final exams. Failure to check-out by the required date and time will result in a late departure charge. 
    iv.     Students who cancel their contract but remain enrolled at the university will pay a contract buyout fee outlined in Section III.E. 
B.   Dates
    i.     The academic contract begins Wednesday prior to the first day of fall classes for newly admitted UNI freshmen, newly admitted UNI transfer students, and newly admitted UNI graduate students; and the Friday prior to the first day of fall classes for all other students and Patrons.  
    ii.     Spring only contracts begin the Friday prior to the first day of spring classes for newly admitted UNI transfer students and patrons.  
    iii.    Residents who are not registered for the next semester (fall and/or spring), or are not otherwise eligible to continue residency, must vacate their rooms by 7:00 p.m. on the Saturday following the last day of final exams. Failure to check-out by the required date and time will result in a late departure charge.
    iv.    Graduating students must vacate their rooms by 9:00 a.m. on the Sunday following the last day of final exams. Failure to check-out by the required date and time will result in a late departure charge. 
    v.     Summer housing does not require a student to be registered for summer term classes, however a student’s relationship and continuing relationship with the university and UHD dictates the extent of eligibility for summer housing. 
               1.   Residents who graduate in Spring are eligible for summer housing through Friday of the week containing May 31. 
               2.   Residents enrolled in fall classes, but without a fall housing contract are eligible for summer housing through the last Friday in July. 
               3.   Residents enrolled in summer courses but not enrolled for fall courses are eligible through the end of summer term but may require relocation to accommodate fall contracts. 
               4.   Residents enrolled in fall classes with a fall housing contract are eligible for continuous housing. Students must have a housing contract for summer by the first day of July term classes to be eligible for this option. 
C.   Usage
    i.       Rooms and apartments may be occupied by residents throughout the contract period pending their continued eligibility. 
    ii.      Personal items left behind will be stored for 30 days with email notification sent to the resident. After 30 days, items will be removed and/or disposed of by the university without liability for doing so. Costs associated with removal of personal items will be billed to the vacating resident. 
    iii.     Residents will be charged for university property missing from a resident’s room and for property damages beyond normal wear, including but not limited to removing stains, odors, fleas, etc., caused by the resident, guests, family members, and/or animals of the resident. Residents will be charged for any expenses incurred by the university to repair or replace key cards, keys, locks, or other related items. 
    iv.     The university is not responsible for loss or damage of goods or personal property. Private insurance is encouraged for the resident’s protection, as no exceptions will be made.
    v.      The university, in order to maintain its regulations and property, reserves the right to have its authorized personnel enter and inspect dorm rooms and apartments as it deems necessary.

V. Dining

A.   Dates
    i.     Meal plans begin the Wednesday prior to the first day of fall classes for newly admitted residential UNI freshmen, newly admitted residential UNI transfer students, and newly admitted residential UNI graduate students; and the Friday prior to the first day of fall classes for all other students and Patrons, including off campus meal plans. 
    ii.     Meal plans begin the Friday before the first day of spring class for new residential spring contracts, and the first day of classes for new non-residential meal plans and returning contracts.    
    iii.    Dining halls are closed for holidays and breaks designated by the university. Hours are posted on the Housing & Dining website and at all dining and retail locations. 
B.   Meal Plan Options
    i.     Residents of the traditional and suite-style dorms are required to have a residential (All-Access or Block 220) meal plan for the duration of the contract term. Failure to identify a meal plan will result in assignment of the All-Access meal plan. 
    ii.     Residents of the apartment-style dorms (with university-supplied kitchens in the unit) and students living off campus may purchase any meal plan or no meal plan. 
    iii.    The rate and meal plan features (meal swipes, dining dollars, guest passes) provided are determined by the plan selected. Meal plan details can be found on the Housing & Dining website.
    iv.    Additional dining dollars are a one-time purchase and can be added at any time. 
C.   Changes
    i.      Meal plans may be changed by the contract holder once each semester no later than the end of the business day of the 10th day of classes and will result in adjustments to plan features and billing, as applicable. 
    ii.     If prior to the meal plan change, more plan features are used than the new plan provides, the contract holder will be billed for the amount used above the amount provided by the new plan.
    iii.    If the resident moves from a traditional or suite-style dorm room to an apartment-style dorm room, they have five (5) business days from the effective move date to change their meal plan if they so choose; if no change is made, the contracted meal plan will remain assigned. 
    iv.    If the resident moves from an apartment-style dorm to a traditional or suite-style dorm room, they have five (5) business days from the effective date of the move to select a residential meal plan. If they do not choose a plan the All-Access plan will be assigned. 
           1.    Meals missed due to late move-in, specific diets, religious beliefs, and activities, employment, classes scheduled during meal hours, among other reasons, are not refundable. 
           2.    Refunds for canceled optional meal plans will be prorated based on usage and weeks remaining in the semester. 
           3.    Refund requests based on prolonged illness or unavoidable absences in excess of seven (7) consecutive days may be considered and must be provided in writing with documentation to UHD. 
           4.    No refunds will be provided for plan features not used prior to whenever a contract is canceled or at the end of the contract term. 
D.   Usage
    i.       A meal plan entitles the contract holder to eat in the dining halls and use plan features in any UHD residential and retail operation. Meal plans and associated features are not transferable or saleable to other individuals. Meal plans may not be shared with others. 
    ii.      The contract holder must present their UNI ID card or ID via the GET app to the greeter to use their meal plan through a meal swipe. Additional identification may be requested at any time. 
    iii.     The contract holder must be present when using meals for guests. 
    iv.     To help ensure meal plans are used appropriately, a one-hour reuse delay is placed on meal swipes. Additional swipes used before the one-hour delay expires may be charged to the resident’s U-Bill. 
    v.      Meal plan swipes and guest passes do not carry over from one semester to the next. Unused meals and guest passes are nonrefundable. 
    vi.     The Weekly 5 plan resets on Friday night and unused meals do not roll over. Unused meals are non-refundable. 
    vii.    Dining dollars carry over from fall to spring semester and expire at the end of the spring semester. Unused dining dollars are nonrefundable.
E.    Dietary Needs, Restrictions, and Accommodations
    i.       Menus in the dining halls satisfy nutritional needs for the majority of medical dietary requirements and religious/lifestyle practices. Contract holders with a dietary restriction and/or who are in need of a dietary accommodation should contact Student Accessibility Services regarding their specific disability and accommodation.
    ii.      University Dining will implement reasonable health and safety measures but is not and will not be liable for any cross-contact, cross-contamination, or adverse reactions that may occur. 
    iii.     A resident with special dietary needs will be released from the meal plan requirement only if, in the sole discretion of the administrative dietitian, their special dietary needs cannot be met.
    iv.     Please review the UNI Dining Services’ Food Allergy and Food Sensitivity Policy for more information. 

VI. Health & Safety

A.   UHD will implement reasonable public health and safety measures regarding infectious disease prevention as recommended by applicable public health authorities. UHD strongly encourages all individuals to follow the recommended public health guidelines, but it cannot control individual behavior. As a result, any student, staff, faculty, or visitor may be exposed to risks, including but not limited to the transmission of any infectious disease, such as COVID-19.
B.   Contract holders and other guests are expected to follow the health and safety measures implemented by the university as recommended by public health authorities during a public health crisis. The health and safety measures may be subject to modification as the public health guidance changes.
C.   UHD does not assume any liability for adverse reactions to food/drink consumed, the presence of a foreign body in food/drink, or other items at any UNI dining location.

VII. Cancellation of Contract

A.   Cancellation of the Housing & Dining Contract must be made by completing the Intent to Cancel form on the housing contract portal.
B.   The Housing & Dining Contract is for the academic year or for the period of time a student is enrolled (this may not include summer). The contract is between UHD and the named student/resident/contract holder and/or their guardian, and is not saleable, assignable, or transferable. Contracts are cancelable only as follows: 
    i.     Full Academic Year Contract (admission, housing and dining begins fall semester)
               1.   Incoming NEW student cancellation:
                         a.   Before May 1, 2026: Housing application fee forfeited. Refer to Admissions Acceptance Fee Policy statement for refund information. 
                         b.   May 2, 2026 and thereafter: Refer to Admissions Acceptance Fee Policy statement for refund information. A contract buyout fee is applied to students who remain enrolled at UNI. See Section III.E. 
               2.   RETURNING resident cancellation:
                         a.   A contract buyout fee is applied for the remainder of the contract. See Section III.E. 
                         b.   Returning students are defined as students who are not new to UNI and have prior enrollment and/or have already lived on campus for a previous term.
    ii.     Spring Semester Contract (housing and dining begins spring semester)
               1.   Incoming NEW Student Cancellation:
                         a.   Before November 1, 2026: Housing application fee forfeited. Refer to Admissions Acceptance Fee Policy statement for refund information.
                         b.   November 2, 2026 and thereafter: Refer to Admissions Acceptance Fee Policy statement for refund information. A contract buyout fee is applied to students who remain enrolled at UNI. See Section III.E. 
    iii.     Live 2 Succeed Contracts
               1.   Residents may modify the contract to add or remove the Live 2 Succeed program through the end of the business day of the 10th day of classes during the first semester of the contract.
               2.   A contract buyout fee is applied to the U-Bill for students who remain enrolled in classes and cancel the contract at any time during the duration of the contract.
                         a.   This applies to both year one and year two if the Live 2 Succeed contract option is selected.
                         b.   The total contract buyout fees are applied to the entirety of the contract. 
C.   Students will be released from this contract without penalty upon receipt of appropriate documentation and only for the following reasons: 
    i.      Not attending the university due to an approved academic withdrawal, transfer, academic dismissal, or graduation. 
    ii.     A new marriage during the term of the contract, if living with a spouse (marriage certificate required for verification).
    iii.    Participating in a UNI academically sponsored program located out of the Cedar Falls area (e.g., student abroad, student teaching, internship).
    iv.    Called to active duty or military service.
D.   Requests for release from this contract due to other reasons not listed above may be considered but may not be approved. Students must complete a Contract Release Application and must provide documentation in order for the request to be evaluated. Other reasons may be: 
    i.     A new medical/psychological condition that was nonexistent prior to moving into university housing that cannot be supported by a reasonable request for accommodation within UHD.
    ii.     An unforeseen significant financial hardship that occurred after the contract effective date. 
    iii.    An unanticipated significant circumstance not previously addressed. 
E.   A contract may be terminated in relation to any of the following circumstances, with the contract holder remaining responsible for contract buyout: 
    i.      Found responsible for violating the Student Code of Conduct or any other applicable law or university regulation.
    ii.     Failure to pay university bills.
    iii.    See section II.L above for loss of eligibility provisions
F.   Contract Termination by the University
    i.     In the event all or a portion of the UHD and/or supply chain becomes unavailable due to an unforeseeable circumstance, as determined by the university, including, but not limited to, natural disaster; fire; flood; tornado; war; embargo; health epidemic or pandemic; quarantine; riots; civil disobedience/unrest; strike, lockout, or other labor disturbances; acts of God or nature; or declaration of emergency, the university may terminate this contract without prior notice. 
    ii.     The university is not responsible for providing alternate housing or dining to the contract holder once a contract is terminated. 

VIII. Addendum for Patrons of Housing & Dining

Not applicable to UNI students, faculty, or staff members, or visiting scholars/researchers.
A.   The University of Northern Iowa has partnership agreements with Hawkeye Community (HCC) and Allen College (Allen) that allow students taking classes at those institutions to contract to live on campus with UHD. These students are referred to as Patrons of UHD (Patrons). 
B.   Patrons live in university housing along with UNI students. The goal of these partnership programs is to assist and support students by providing a strong living and learning environment. With this goal in mind, the following expectations have been developed: 
    i.     Enrolling in Classes: Patrons must be enrolled as full-time students. Full-time is defined as being enrolled and completing a minimum of nine (9) credit hours each semester during the academic year at their respective institutions. 
    ii.    Course Registration Verification: A list of Patrons will be sent to the partner institution(s) at the beginning of each month to verify full-time enrollment. Patrons not meeting full-time enrollment status are subject to cancellation of their Housing & Dining Contract. 
    iii.    Flexible Patron Status: Students may transfer enrollment between UNI and HCC or Allen without interruption of their Housing & Dining Contract. Students must notify UHD immediately upon changing this enrollment status. If attending HCC or Allen, an information release form must be completed in order for the contract to remain active and the Patron to be allowed to continue living in campus housing.
    iv.    Financial Deadline: Fee payments at UNI, HCC and Allen are independent of each other. Patrons pay tuition and fees at their respective institution and pay housing and meal plan fees at UNI. Payment of housing and meal plan fees are required as stated in the university U-Bill Terms and Conditions. Should a Patron incur a past due balance at UNI, that Patron’s Housing & Dining Contract is subject to cancellation and financial penalty. Payment plans may be arranged through the UNI Student Accounts Office, as the financial aid disbursement schedule at HCC and Allen may differ from UNI’s. 
    v.     Patrons do not pay all fees billed to UNI students. As such, Patrons are not afforded access to the same services as UNI students. Patrons do not have immediate access to the UNI Student Health Clinic, Wellness and Recreation Center, etc. but may request and pay fees for access to such services. Refer to the UHD website for full details. 
    vi.    Financial Assistance: Patrons are considered either HCC or Allen students for financial aid purposes. Financial aid is processed through the institution where the Patron is enrolled for classes. Patrons applying for financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should enter either the HCC or Allen school code on the FAFSA, as applicable. The Patron should also select the on-campus housing option on the FAFSA if they are requesting aid for housing and dining. Financial aid is disbursed to first pay the bill at the institution where the Patron is enrolled. Remaining funds are disbursed directly to the Patron, which the Patron may use to pay their bill at UNI. UNI accepts payment by check, e-check, money order, cashier’s check, cash, or credit card at the Student Accounts Office in Gilchrist Hall.
    vii.   Behavioral expectations:
               1.   Patrons living in campus housing are expected to attend house meetings and activities throughout the year. 
               2.   Patrons living in campus housing are expected to maintain a good disciplinary record at both the institution where they are enrolled and UNI. Incidents occurring due to failure to follow UNI policies and procedures will be handled through the UNI conduct system. 
               3.   Failure to comply with conduct sanctions may result in cancellation of the Housing & Dining Contract, removal from campus housing, and/or financial penalty. 
    viii.   Contact information requirement: Patrons are expected to maintain up to date contact information with UHD. 
    ix.     Academic calendars: The HCC and Allen academic year calendars generally coincide with the UNI calendar. When these calendars do not coincide, Patrons must request and be granted, from UHD, an exception to stay before or after the regular UNI contract dates at a rate determined by UHD. 
    x.      Terms and conditions: All contract terms and conditions apply, including cancellation dates and contract buyout fees; including when a student enrolls at either HCC or Allen, and/or returns to UNI. 
    xi.     Patrons are eligible in their first semester of living in UNI’s campus housing to enroll in the Live 2 Succeed program. All terms and conditions related to the Live 2 Succeed program remain in effect.
