UPDATED MODERN LIVING! Noehren Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1967 and sits on the south side of campus as part of the “Quads”. The hall opened its first updated wing in Fall 2019 to include modern rooms and common spaces as well as pod-style bathrooms. It is home to a mix of both first-year and upper division students living in First-Year Experience and Returner Residential Communities, with a total of 14 houses. Noehren is a mixed gender hall, where students primarily live in double rooms with a roommate; however, super single rooms may be available. Handicap accessible accommodations are also available. Meal plans are required for students who live in Noehren Hall with easy access to Piazza dining center and Redeker Center, as it is connected by skywalk.
These communities house first-year students (new to college) and help enhance entering students’ transition to UNI while creating a peer reference group, academic experience and enhancing students’ academic and social success.
These communities provide an opportunity for our returning, second-year+ students to interact with other upper division students, live in a supportive environment and collaborate in their studies.
This community strives to provide outstanding educational, social and leadership opportunities outside of the classroom. Acceptance into the honors program is required.
Students living in the Jump Start community will have the opportunity to continue the relationship-building and programming started during participation in the Jump Start extended orientation program (required).
